Change

Unfortunately I do not have the pictures from our first time out to Miller Farms, since I was still shooting on film at that time. It was 7 years ago and Grace was about 3 1/2 months old and was wearing the classic "My First Buckeye T-Shirt". As I look at these pictures I am amazed at not only how time flies, but how fast your first born becomes the oldest of three, how fast your baby boy becomes a big brother and how fast the baby of the family, the third, tries to run the family. Where did that
little baby that slept so quietly, so soundly on my chest go? I only know today of the three children that jump on my chest that are only trying to get me to wrestle with them, definitely not to cuddle, let alone fall asleep. For some reason autumn is always a sentimental time for me. It reminds me of my college days and Buckeye season, it is also the time of year when when I lost my sister, it is when I got married to the most amazing woman in my life and the time of
year when we find out that we were pregnant with our first and second children. It is the time of year when we left for Berlin and were able to experience Oktoberfest for the first time. Autumn is when we also welcomed our Hanna Faith into the world. It is a time of year that for me is filled with so much beauty so much change. Change that none of us can control, but through the majestic artwork of our creator He reminds us of the beauty that is change. It is a reminder how we are not in control and that the seasons of life will change, to our liking or not. It reminds me that change it is something to be embraced and cherished and not wished away. As I reminisce about the pictures and all the change that has taken place since then, of course I am saddened and cherish those times, but I look forward to the pictures of our family, of my children that I am going to be able to take and the memories that we have yet to create and the beauty of the change that is yet to come!
