Easter 2010

This year we were ecstatic to celebrate Easter again in Berlin. It was our fourth time that we were able to celebrate Easter living in the same apartment, which is a record for us to celebrate the same holiday for so many years in a row without being in the US or moving. Not only was it great because of that, but it was really a glorious day when we were able to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour with so many that have come so near and dear to our hearts.

It was a blast trying to watch Stephanie try to color eggs with three kids, in particularly with Hanna while I took pictures. She did not find it nearly as much fun as I did.

Although in the end all kids survived, the coloring actually stayed in the cups and our kids were the same color and the only things that changed color were the egss.

Our little Rascals, that we love so much!

While Stephanie was preparing dinner Hanna climbed up again to the table to explore, so daddy let her while he took pictures. Maybe was not the brightest idea, however I got some cute pictures out of it. And amazingly enough she only tried putting the spoon in her mouth once and nothing spilled. We will not talk about how close we were a couple of times though.

Before Brunch/Worship at the Family Center we gave the kids their baskets and had a small Easter Egg hunt.

Caleb actually did a great job of keeping up with Grace finding the eggs, Hanna however did not find it nearly as cool.

I will not begin to share with you all how many pictures I had to take to get this one picture, which is the best out of all of them. Not so easy getting a 1, 3, and 5 year old to sit still, look in the same direction and smiling as the same time. I have not come that far in my photography skills yet.

Our Easter Brunch and Family Worship was a wonderful experience. Our German Pastor and his wife lead a memory search game with the kids using all symbols of Easter. Afterward he described the meanings of the symbols and then shared the Easter story. It was wonderful to see so many of our friends from the Parent Child Cafe there, as well as neighbors and other acquantences who had never been to a worship service before. What a perfect time to come, to hear the story of our risen Saviour! It was a full house!

After the time inside we all went outside for a huge Easter Egg hunt. In total over 60 eggs were hidden for the children. Don't worry we had a separate basket of goodies for the parents! While outside we got our Family Easter Picture, which I think came out pretty well. It was so encouraging to see so many people who had only met for the first time, fellowshipping together and truly enjoying one anothers company. I think we were out there for at least an hour after the egg hunt was over just hanging out with one another.

After the Easter Egg Hunt we went home to prepare for Easter dinner. We were blessed to have some close friends join us for a fabulous feast. As we look around us and see all how God has blessed us we are humbled and thankful for all that he has done and is doing.
